Sunday, 03-Nov-2013
From the bull surfing competition (കാളപൂട്ട് മത്സരം) held at Siyamkandam, Ikkarappadi, near Kondotty, Malappuram District, Kerala, India.

Bull Surfing is a seasonal sport race that take place in the villages of Kerala, Southern India during the post harvest season. A pair of yoked bulls are sent charging down the football field-sized rice paddy field soaked in ankle deep water, while their handlers boarded on a wooden plank, hang onto the tail or onto a harness and slide through the mud. The fields are freshly ploughed and the muddy water splash about as the bulls are raced by their handlers.
